Seasonal and Breezy Thursday Afternoon

TODAY: Sunny skies are greeting us all this afternoon, as high pressure to our southwest is in control of our weather pattern. Clouds will be on the increase north of Interstate 70 today, as a weak and dry frontal passage is expected. It will be windy and cool with high temperatures in the mid 50s and southwest to west winds at 12-20 mph, gusting up to 30 mph.

TONIGHT: Passing clouds this evening are possible. There is a slight shower chance from 5PM through 8PM for counties east of HWY 54 for Monroe, Audrain, and Montgomery counties. Given the air is fairly dry, perhaps a few sprinkles. Overnight it becomes clear again with winds becoming light under 10 mph with air temperatures falling to the mid 20s.

EXTENDED: Temperatures will drop into the mid 20s Thursday night and stay in the upper 40s to near 50 Friday under sunny skies. Winds will shift to the south, warming temperatures into the 60s this weekend. Saturday will be breezy with winds gusting to 25 mph during the day, so outdoor burning is discouraged again this weekend. Starting next week, temperatures warm to near 70 degrees Monday with increasing rain chances late in the day. Next Tuesday morning could bring showers and thunderstorms are more measurable rain to areas from I-70 and south.
