Appeals court rules against Kim Gardner in open records case

KMIZ

ST. LOUS (AP) — The Missouri Court of Appeals has rejected St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner’s appeal of a ruling that her office violated the state’s open records law. The appeals court in St. Louis on Tuesday upheld a lower court’s ruling that Gardner’s office did not respond in a timely manner to a lawsuit over open records. The lawsuit was filed by conservative journalist John Solomon, who was seeking all of Gardner’s contacts with staff and other key players in the 2018 criminal investigations of then-Gov. Eric Greitens. The court found Gardner’s office did not respond in a timely manner because of carelessness, inattention, and deliberate disregard.
