Columbia Water and Light to reveal water resource plan draft

Columbia Water and Light will meet with the community to reveal a draft of a new water resource plan at the Activity and Recreation Center at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The utility company hired Black and Veatch, a consulting company that specializes in developing plans to clean, control, move and conserve water, to create the water resource plan.

Representatives from Black and Veatch will present the draft at 6 p.m. The presentation will be the only formal part of the meeting.

Some of the key components that will be discussed are the options to create a 10 million gallon per day expansion and how to implement a water conservation system.

Connie Kacprowicz, spokesperson for Columbia Water and Light, said community feedback is important to move forward with these plans. She said that before and after the presentation from Black and Veatch, members of the community are encouraged to offer feedback or concerns.
