Three suspects charged in home invasion, fourth suspect shot by resident

Pettis County prosecutors filed charges Sunday night against three men who were allegedly involved in a home invasion Saturday.

The sheriff’s department said a fourth suspect was shot by the resident inside the home.

Piaget Deitas, Joyter Meseky and Alexander T. Alexander were each charged with burglary in the first degree.

Charges against the fourth suspect, Allen Deitas, are pending his release from a hospital in Columbia.

Authorities said Deitas was shot at least twice during the incident.

The four men are accused of going into the apartment and stealing a pistol. When they were confronted, one of the suspects reportedly pointed the pistol at the resident. The resident then fired another pistol, hitting Deitas.

Authorities say the resident acted in self-defense and the prosecutor declined to file charges against him.
