18-year-old airlifted to Columbia hospital after shooting in Pettis County

An 18-year-old man is recovering in Columbia from multiple gunshot wounds after a shooting in Pettis County.

According to a Facebook post from the Pettis County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were called to an apartment complex in the 400 block of South Walnut just after 10 p.m. Saturday night for reports of a shooting.

When they arrived, deputies say they found a man on the sidewalk in front of the apartment complex with multiple gunshot wounds.

The man was airlifted to Columbia for treatment.

Deputies say the scene is clear, but the shooting is still under investigation.
