Two suspects on the run after attempted armed robbery at Eagle Stop

Columbia Police are searching for at least two suspects after an attempted armed robbery at the Eagle Stop.

The call came in shortly after 4 a.m. Friday morning.

Police on scene told our ABC 17 News crews that two armed suspects attempted to rob the gas station, but ran off when they saw the security guard.

They say the description of the suspects is vague, but they are currently reviewing surveillance video.

According to a press release, the suspects were armed with handguns.

This isn’t the first time the Eagle Stop has fallen victim to a robbery or attempted robbery. Back in June, police responded to two robbery calls at the Eagle Stop in less than a week.
