Man arrested for stolen car, meth possession

An Ashland man is waking up in the Boone County jail Friday morning after he’s arrested for allegedly driving a stolen vehicle.

Police arrested Allan Bobbitt Thursday for possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and tampering with a motor vehicle.

Columbia Police say they were near the Eagle Stop on North Providence Road Thursday when they saw a white Ford Explorer that was reported stolen three days prior. The car was also involved in two different car chases, one of which happened Thursday on Demaret.

Police say they watched Bobbitt–by himself–exit the Eagle Stop before he drove across the street to the Red Roof Inn.

They say they approached him as he got out of his car, but he took off running.

Shortly after, police took Bobbitt into custody. When they searched him, they found a bag of a marijuana. They also found meth paraphernalia and three bags of meth when they searched his car.
