Friday Afternoon, January 6

TODAY: Another frigid day is on tap for Mid-Missouri. Even with sunny skies today, temperatures will struggle to climb into the mid teens. Temperatures look to stay 20-25 degrees below normal. Afternoon wind chill looks to only top near 5-8.

TONIGHT: Skies will be mostly clear with a northwest to west wind under 8 mph. The wind chill will be close to 5 by the evening commute. The temperature will dip close to 3 overnight, with a wind chill reaching -5.

EXTENDED: There may be some patchy fog on Saturday morning due to light winds. We’ll start off with plenty of sun though on Saturday with clouds increasing during the day. Although we warm slightly this weekend, we will still be below freezing through Sunday before a shift in the weather pattern sends warmer air in for the start of next week. High temperatures will reach the lower 40s Monday and low 50s on Tuesday as a southwest breeze picks up and brings a chance of rain Tuesday.
