Sunday morning, January 1
TODAY: Happy New Year Mid-Missouri! To start off our first day in 2017, we will have AM partly sunny skies with increasing clouds by early afternoon. These clouds will inhibit our high from reaching above the mid 40s. Winds will be dry out of the E around 3-7 mph. The chance for rain will not begin until late Sunday night, so our Sunday forecast will remain completely dry.
MONDAY: Light rain will move into Mid-Missouri by the morning hours. Temperatures will increase to the upper 50s by the afternoon due to warm and moist SE air pouring into Mid-Missouri. The chance for scattered showers continues into Monday evening with minimal accumulation less than 0.1″.
EXTENDED: The cold front that will be bringing in our next cold blast will move into Mid-Missouri by Tuesday morning. As this front passes Tuesday morning, we may see a few scattered drizzles. Temperatures will not begin to drop until Tuesday evening as the front moves farther to the SE. Bitterly cold air will be present by Wednesday morning with the temperature near 15 degrees. Daytime highs will remain below freezing for the rest of the week with the morning lows in the teens. There is a slight chance of light snow on Thursday.
