Tracking tonight’s snow showers

TONIGHT: Snow moves in tonight, around 9-10 p.m. for western most counties along and south of I-70. This is where we expect the dividing line to be for most. Folks north of 70, especially east of Hwy 63 will have the lowest chance at seeing snowfall, let alone accumulations. Temperatures turn bitterly cold late tonight. Expect temperatures to fall into the low teens and high single digits by Thursday morning.

THURSDAY: Given the cold air, ground temperatures will be cold, and this quick moving system will be an efficient snow maker. Still, the cold air will also be dry air, which has adjusted expected totals down a bit. Still, Thursday's commute could be slippery in some places with highest totals anywhere between 1-2 inches, with most seeing less. Highs will only top out in the teens tomorrow, so slick spots will be possible even into the afternoon and evening hours.

EXTENDED: Lows will fall into the single digits by Friday morning, but manage to recover into the 20’s by the afternoon. We jump back into the 40’s Saturday with our next storm system moving in by the evening. This one looks to be warm enough to only be concerned with rain right now, and should be out by the coldest part of the night. We’re cooler on Sunday and Monday with highs in the 30’s before starting to warm up a touch for the rest of next week.
