Tuesday Afternoon, December 27
TODAY: Another beautiful and mild day is in the works for Mid-Missouri. After a chilly start to the day, with lows in the upper 20s and lower 30s, temperatures will warm again today. Highs will climb into the mid to upper 40s today underneath sunny skies. Winds will stay under 10 mph from the west.
TONIGHT: It remains quiet overnight as high pressure moves overhead and winds shift out of the south under 10 mph. Temperatures should drop a few degrees colder then Monday night, reaching the upper 20s in most locations.
EXTENDED: We’ll have another mild day Wednesday with partly cloudy skies and high temperatures in the low 50s. There is a slight shower chance in the afternoon near I-44 but most rain will stay south of our area. Thanks to much dry air in place, trace amounts only look likely at this time. A cold front moves through Wednesday afternoon, cooling our daytime highs into the lower 40s Thursday and Friday with mostly sunny skies. As another cold front moves in this weekend, moisture will return ahead of it from the south but looks light. There is a slight chance of light rain or rain/snow mix early Saturday morning south of I-70 with a few showers possible in the afternoon. Light showers late Saturday night could also have snow mixed in north of HWY 50 but no accumulation is expected. High temperatures will reach the mid 40s Saturday and lower 40s New Year’s Day.
