Sunday Evening, December 25
TONIGHT: A warm evening is in store as we close Christmas night. An approaching cold front will bring some gusty winds through the evening hours as well as scattered storms. Thankfully, the storms don’t look likely to be severe. The only threat with the storms is the potential for some damaging winds. The line of storms is currently just west of the Kansas City Metro and will continue to track east. The line of storms will be near Highway 65 by 8 PM and Columbia/Jefferson City area by 10 PM. Rainfall accumulations with the line of storms will be near .50″, with isolated heavier amounts. Once the line of storms tracks through the area, falling temperatures and decreasing clouds will carry us into Monday.
MONDAY: Some isolated AM showers are possible in extreme western Mid-Missouri. Outside of that small chance, Monday will be dry and breezy. Sunny skies will greet all of Mid-Missouri through the day, with temperatures holding steady in the low to mid 40s.
EXTENDED: Tuesday also holds sunny and dry conditions with Wednesday breaking this short-lived trend of dry weather with a chance for early morning rain. Temperatures will remain bearable this week lingering in the 40s for the highs and lows remaining in the upper 20s and lower 30s. Watching our next system take shape as we head into New Years Eve/Day, as there is a chance for some isolated showers in the forecast.
