Police: Centralia man driving drunk with revoked license, arrested

Andrew Houlditch was arrested by Centralia police after allegedly driving while intoxicated, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle and resisting arrest, among other suspected charges.

According to court documents, Houlditch is accused of driving while intoxicated. Documents say officers saw him weaving in the lane. Court documents say he failed to yield to an emergency vehicle by not immediately pulling over after seeing the red and blue lights of the officer’s patrol car. The officer also said he began to speed away after hearing the siren.

Court documents also say Houlditch resisted arrest by trying to evade police, speeding away from them.

Police said he had a strong odor of intoxicants on his breath, was unsteady on his feet, and his eyes were bloodshot and glassy.

Police said he refused all field sobriety testing and refused to answer questions. Documents say when Houlditch was told he was under arrest, he said he’d only finished his fifth beer.

Houlditch was also charged with domestic assault. Court document say he grabbed his girlfriend by the throat and choked her. Documents say she was able to get away but officers said they saw red marks on both sides of her neck consistent with being choked.

Court documents said Houlditch was also driving while having a revoked license. The documents say he is not eligible for a reinstated license until August 2021.
