Man arrested in Midway on burglary charges

A man is in jail Saturday morning after authorities responded to reports of a burglary in Midway.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department responded to a disturbance call around 1:30 a.m. Saturday on the 6400 block of Highway 40.

Deputies said during the investigation they learned that Mason B. Hunter, 26, partially forced himself inside the residence but was stopped by the person who lives there.

Witnesses told deputies they heard Hunter threaten the people in the residence while he pounded on the door.

Deputies said they took Hunter in without incident.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department arrested Hunter on charges of burglary in the first degree, assault in the third degree and property damage in the second degree.
