Investigators: Columbia man posts sexual ads without woman’s knowledge

A Columbia man is charged with harassment and violating an order of protection after he posted ads on BackPage offering sexual services without the woman’s consent.

Ryan Thiesse, 28, admitted to investigators about posting four BackPage ads depicting the woman as a prostitute.

According to the probable cause statement that ABC 17 News obtained at the Boone County Courthouse on Nov. 18, a woman whose name was redacted reported being the target of harassment campaign.

The woman told investigators that she had received calls from strange and blocked numbers inquiring about an ad she had posted online as an escort offering sexual services.

According to court documents that ad read, “Looking for a good time? Look no further I’m your girl!! Guarantee satisfaction and 100% me in pic. Available for all locations. Tell me your wildest fantasies and let me make them come true. 100 for hh. 150 full he.”

When investigators first interviewed Thiesse he admitted he used his neighbor’s internet service to post the BackPage ads.

Investigators searched Thiesse’s cell phone, in which they saw two anonymous texting apps. He admitted to using the apps to get a random phone number which he would then use to contact the woman and communicate with her.

ABC 17 News is talking with members of the Boone County Cyber Crimes Unit to learn more about these types of crimes and we will have more about what they have to say coming up at 10 p.m.
