Former Osage County Sheriff to stand trial in March
The former Osage County Sheriff accused of pulling a gun on a man while intoxicated will stand trial March 1, 2017 in Boone County.
Michael Dixon appeared before Associate Circuit Judge Deborah Daniels for a preliminary hearing Tuesday in Columbia. Dixon is accused of pulling a handgun on a person in a Hartsburg bar on March 5. No one was injured during the incident. At the time, Dixon was on probation after pleading guilty to harassing a female Belle police officer in 2013.
Dixon is charged with the amended charge of a Class A Misdemeanor of unlawful use of a weapon while intoxicated. Judge Daniels will preside over Dixon’s bench trial on March 1.
