Trial date set for mid-Missouri homicide suspect

A trial date is set for a Columbia teenager charged with murder in Boone County.

Tyrone James III, 18, is charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the shooting death of another man.

Prosecutors accuse James of shooting and killing 17-year-old Marquez Reed on July 27 near Douglass Park in Columbia.

Police officers said Jones shot Reed after an argument.

A pre-trial conference is scheduled for Jones on Jan. 30 at 1:30 p.m.

Jones trial is set to start Feb. 7 at 9 a.m. in Boone County Court.
