Semi rollover on I-70 near Millersburg exit

A semi-truck has rolled over on I-70 near the Millersburg exit.

A lieutenant with the Boone County Fire Protection District told ABC 17 News that the semi-truck ran off the road. The semi-truck the only vehicle involved. The driver was able to walk away from the crash and was taken to a hospital. At last check he was in good condition.

The truck was using a flat-bed to haul a commercial cooling tower. ABC 17 News contacted the trucking company, Kole Trucking, out of Charlotte, North Carolina, but they did not have any comment about the incident. Their website indicates they have been operating for more than 20 years and specialize in transporting aircraft equipment.

Officials said the truck spilled 100 gallons of diesel fuel. A spokesperson with the Department of Natural Resources said the trucking company hired a third party to clean up the spill.

The driving lane was temporarily closed while crews worked. Both lanes are now open.

Crews left the scene around 2:00 p.m. to avoid rush-hour traffic but said they would be back later in the evening to remove the semi-truck from the ditch.
