One dead after fatal crash on Highway 124

UPDATE 12/11: According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 55-year-old Ricky McGinnis was killed in the crash. He was a passenger in the car driven by 39-year-old Aaron Dow.

Troopers say Dow crossed the center line and crashed head-on into another car in the northbound lane. The second car was driven by 54-year-old Rebecca Coulter. Both Dow and Coulter were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

According to the crash report, McGinnis was not wearing a seatbelt.

UPDATE: Asst. Chief Gale Blomenkamp with the Boone County Fire Protection District confirmed a man died after a head-on collision on Highway 124 Saturday night.

Another woman and a man were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.

ORIGINAL: Right now, emergency responders are on the scene of a crash in northern Boone County.

The Boone County Fire Protection District and Missouri State Highway Patrol were called to the scene on Highway 124 North around 9:45 p.m. Saturday.

The crash happened between Jay Jay and Shelly Lane.

Sgt. Scott White tells ABC 17 News two cars were involved in the crash and at least one of them caught on fire.

Boone Hospital Center ambulance and University Hospital ambulance also responded.

ABC 17 News crews reported seeing an ambulance and helicopter leave the crash scene.
