Deputies arrest man on suspicion of stealing a truck

The Maries County Sheriff’s Department said deputies arrested a Belle man for on suspicion of stealing and crashing a truck.

Officials said James E. Roberds, 42, is believed to have stolen the truck off County Road 411 last week. He then allegedly wrecked the truck off County Road 2220 in Phelps County.

The Sheriff’s Department said Roberds is currently on parole. He is being held in the Maries County jail pending formal charges.
