Tracking a soggy start to the day

much needed
KMIZ

TUESDAY: Showers and a few rumbles of thunder will be with us throughout the morning. A good, soaking rain will leave us with around an inch of rain before departing this afternoon. Sunshine will even try to visit after the rain, bumping temperatures into the middle 50’s.

TONIGHT: Clouds will increase tonight ahead of our next system. It will be a little cooler, with overnight lows in the low to mid 30’s.

EXTENDED: Another disturbance will slide through tomorrow, bringing showers to areas along and south of HWY 54. The timing on those will favor the late morning into the early afternoon hours. Highs on Wednesday will be stuck in the 40’s. That where we’ll be on Thursday with some quiet weather setting up for a short stint. Temperatures on Friday will jump into the mid to upper 50’s. A mature storm system will roll through overnight into Saturday, bringing another healthy dose of rain to the area. If this system comes in further south, we could end up talking about some wintry weather, but right now many models favor the liquid version. The rain should wrap up by Saturday evening as much colder air funnels in. Lows will fall into the teens Saturday and Sunday nights with highs on Sunday staying below freezing.
