Holts Summit man arrested for threatening family members

A Holts Summit man has been charged after threatening his family with a weapon.

According to the Callaway County Sheriff’s Department, 33 year-old James P. Harrison has been charged with armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, first degree burglary, and second degree domestic assault.

Just after 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Callaway County deputies responded to a residence in the 1700 block of Lee Street south of Holts Summit for a reported disturbance involving weapons. Harrison had fled the scene in a vehicle before deputies arrived. During the investigation, deputies found that Harrison had remained in a family member’s residence unlawfully, displayed and threatened others with a firearm, and assaulted a family member.

Harrison was located in Jefferson City later that night, and was detained by the Jefferson City Police Department. Callaway County deputies responded to Jefferson City, took custody of Harrison, and transported him to the Callaway County Jail. The investigation is continuing, and according to the release, more charges could be pending.
