Tracking higher rain chances this week

TONIGHT: Clouds have returned this afternoon, ahead of our next chance for rain later tonight. Dry weather will stick with us well into the late evening, but showers return shortly after midnight. Temperatures drop into the upper 30's overnight.

TUESDAY: Rain chances build through the early morning hours, becoming widespread by sunrise Tuesday. After a wet morning, showers will taper off in the afternoon. This rain will largely be associated with a warm front, keeping temperatures varied across the region. Things warm up to the southwest, where highs will fall in the mid to upper 50's. Temps may not leave the 40's near Columbia and northward.

EXTENDED: Cold air rushes in behind this system and we’ll drop into the 20’s Tuesday night and be held in the upper 30’s to low 40’s Wednesday. We stay dry through Thursday and most of Friday. Highs will recover into the upper 40’s Thursday and break into the 50’s Friday. Our next storm system rolls through late Friday night into Saturday, bringing back some rain chances with an outside chance we might see some snow. Details are hard to trust right now, but be sure to check back with the forecast throughout the week. There’s plenty of cold air on the other side of this system, with highs by Sunday likely staying below freezing.
