Stolen car flips during chase with authorities in Moberly

A Moberly Police Officer attempted to stop a vehicle on Thursday near Logan Street and Morley Street after learning it was reported stolen from Salisbury, Mo.

The driver failed to stop for the officer, and a pursuit began eastbound on Logan Street. The driver of the stolen vehicle lost control and flipped the vehicle on its side on Rollins Street near Meadowbrook Drive.

The driver, a 54 year old Monroe County man, was taken into custody and charged with tampering with a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and distribution of controlled substance with a bond set at $100,000.

The controlled substance referred to in the charges was methamphetamine.

Two other passengers in the vehicle, who were from Moberly, were also taken into custody. They were later released.
