Camden County authorities arrest man for severely beating wife

An officer was dispatched to the Ozark Trails R-V Park & Campground because of a disturbance on Monday evening.

When the officer got to the scene, it was discovered that Traci Lynn Porter had been assaulted by her husband, Clarence Edward Porter.

Traci Porter had large amounts of blood on her face, hair and clothing. Her eyes were swollen shut and her lips were swollen and cut. Traci Porter said that her husband beat her with his fists.

Traci Porter said that her husband had assaulted her during their drive to the campground from Iberia, Mo. Traci Porter was unable to get out of the car until they arrived at the campground. According to Traci Porter, Clarence Porter drank an entire pint of Vodka and several beers. and was the driver for the entire trip.

Traci Porter fled to her neighbor’s trailer to get away from Clarence Porter. The neighbor, Ethan Gray, let her inside, but Clarence Porter entered Gray’s trailer while his back was turned. Clarence continued to lunge at Traci while Gray held him back until the officer arrived.

While being arrested, Clarence Porter complained that his handcuffs were too tight, which was not true according to the officer arresting him.

Clarence Porter is being held without bond, and Traci Porter was taken to Lake Regional Hospital. At the hospital, it was confirmed that her injuries consisted of numerous sites of bleeding in the brain, lacerations and facial fractures.

Traci Porter also told authorities that Clarence Porter spent 28 months in jail in 2014 after assaulting her with a hammer.
