Sequestered Potter jury in 4th day as holiday weekend looms

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Jurors weighing the case against a suburban Minneapolis police officer who shot and killed Black motorist Daunte Wright opened their fourth day of deliberations on Thursday with the Christmas holiday looming. That is raising questions about how the judge will handle former Brooklyn Center officer Kim Potter’s case if the day ends without a verdict. Attorneys not involved in the case say breaking sequestration would be a highly unusual move and could lead to a mistrial. Potter is charged with manslaughter in the April 11 shooting of Wright in a traffic stop after he sought to get away from arresting officers. She has said she meant to draw her Taser to stop Wright but pulled her gun by mistake.
