Police investigating suspicious death at a Columbia home

The Columbia Police Department is investigating a suspicious death in the 1800 block of Kathy Drive.

Emergency responders were called to the scene around 3:15 p.m. Sunday.

When officers arrived they found a 44-year-old man dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

Crime scene tape has been placed around the perimeter of the home while police investigate.

ABC 17 News crews on scene spoke to the person who called 911. He said a woman told him that someone inside the house had been shot.

Police said a man and woman are in custody being questioned. They were believed to be inside the home at the time of the death.

Right now, investigators are waiting for a search warrant to be able to go inside the home to process the scene.
