Tracking another brutally hot afternoon

THIS AFTERNOON: Another hot and humid day, with a heat index between 100 and 105 degrees.

TONIGHT: Conditions remain warm and muggy overnight, with lows falling to the upper 70s.

EXTENDED: Brutal heat continues into the weekend, with ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Days on Friday and Saturday for a heat index above 100 degrees. Spot storms will enter the forecast this weekend, but there will be plenty of dry time for holiday plans. A front will move through the area next week, cooling temperatures by a few degrees to the upper 80s, and possibly driving more daily rain chances.
