CenturyLink reducing it’s workforce

CenturyLink employees throughout the country are being given the opportunity to take voluntary severance packages and participate in outplacement assistance programs.

According to CenturyLink spokesman Mark Molzen, the company is evaluating its cost structure and business practices, and has found the need to reduce its employee related costs.

Initially, the company is not targeting any specific states or cities, and does not know the specific number of those who will be affected by the reductions. Molzen tells ABC17, “The positions that will be impacted are based on the number of volunteers and will be finalized in the coming weeks.”

Molzen added that most of the changes are expected for full implementation by December 16th.
