Man arrested after another reported exposing incident on MU campus

A man is behind bars Thursday morning after he allegedly exposed himself to a woman on MU campus and stole her cell phone.

MUPD says they arrested 25-year-old Richard Henderson yesterday.

Police say a victim reported she was sitting on a bench outside the Student Center Wednesday morning when Henderson came up to her and exposed himself.

The victim apparently ran away leaving her phone and backpack, but was able to use another person’s phone to call police.

Officer’s say her phone and backpack were gone when they returned to the bench.

MUPD says the responding officer put out the suspect description and worked with the victim to track her phone.

Officers located the Henderson and say he fought with officers during the arrest.

Henderson remained in the Boone County Jail Thursday.
