Heavy Rain possible Sunday through Monday

A slow moving upper level storm system will bring measurable rainfall by the end of the upcoming weekend and early next week. Due to the nature that this system is moving slowly, this will have the potential to bring a few inches of rainfall to central Mid-Missouri. Areas in western Missouri could see closer to 2″ to 4″, where near US 63 1″ to 3″ is possible. The heaviest rain looks to increase into areas west of US 63 in the afternoon by 1PM-7PM on Sunday.

Monday morning rain looks possible, especially for areas east of US 63 as post frontal precipitation is likely to continue. There is a slight chance for rain to to continue for areas east of US 63 into Tuesday. There is still much uncertainty with this, depending on how fast this storm system will move through. We’ll continue to post more updates as data comes in. In the meantime, follow us on Twitter @ABC17Stormtrack and download the ABC17 Stormtrack Weather App for updated information.
