Police searching for man who allegedly ran after traffic stop

The Columbia Police Department is looking for a man they say ran from them after a traffic stop e arly Tuesday morning.

It happened off of Conley, near the Break Time.

Police say they initially tried to pull over a car for a traffic stop, but the car failed to yield and kept moving.

As the car was moving the passenger apparently jumped out.

Police say the driver drove the car a couple hundred yards further, stopped and was arrested on scene.

Officers believe they know who they are looking for, but haven’t said who the man is.

The Boone County Sheriffs Department is helping in the search.
