ABC 17 Stormtrack Daily Forcast

Friday, September 16 Daily Forecast:

TODAY: Showers and storms will be on the increase through all of Friday. While the heaviest of the storms will hold off until the late afternoon hours, the morning commute will be a wet one. Winds through the day will remain out of the south under 12 mph, pumping in more warmth and moisture for the storms. Heaviest of the rain will remain south of I-70, where up to an inch of rain is possible. A high of 81 degrees will be possible this afternoon.

TONIGHT: The evening commute will continue the wet trend, with the heaviest storms remaining south of the I-70 corridor. Even with the passage of a weak cold front tonight into Saturday, not expecting a big change in temperatures. Lows overnight will drop into the midi 60s, with the rain weakening by morning. An additional inch is possible through the evening hours.

EXTENDED: For Saturday, there is also a slight rain chance for Mizzou football and tailgating. Any showers that do develop in the morning look to be near I-70. By afternoon this cold front should drop closer to I-44, bringing our better rain chance to south Mid-Missouri by kick off. It will warm to near 80 Saturday, falling to near 60 overnight. Sunday looks mostly sunny and warm with high temperatures in the lower 80s. For additional weather updates follow @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
