Columbia Police investigating drive-by shooting on I-70

An 18-year-old was injured in a drive by shooting on I-70 in Columbia Friday afternoon.

Police were called to the scene near the West Blvd. exit around 4 p.m. for reports of shots fired.

Officers found a white car with multiple bullet holes on the passenger side.

CPD said four people were inside the car at the time of the shooting including three 18-year-old men and a 17-year-old girl.

The victims told police they were driving westbound on I-70 when another car began shooting at them.

One of the men was hit by the gunfire, but suffered non-life threatening injuries to his leg. Police said the four teens pulled over and got a ride to the hospital from a passerby.

The injured teen was later released from the hospital Friday.

CPD is asking anyone with information to call them or CrimeStoppers at 875-TIPS to remain anonymous.
