Widespread rain returns this week

A low pressure system developing over Nevada and California today will aid in the development of yet another cold front that brings us cooler and drier weather for the weekend. Before this, widespread, measurable rainfall returns.

Thursday morning showers looks to lift into southwest Mid-Missouri. The rain chance looks to increase in coverage on Thursday afternoon bringing 0.50″ to 0.75″ to most areas during the day. Rain increases overnight Thursday into Friday morning where pockets of heavy rain is possible through 7AM Friday morning. There looks to be a chance for storms during the day Friday, but these look to taper off west of US 63 by 9PM and areas east of US 63 by midnight. The heaviest of rainfall will occur on Friday morning from 3AM-7AM. Rainfall totals look to be highest in western Missouri where 1.5″ to 2″ is possible by weeks end.
