Second motorcycle crash near “Big Tree” in one month

A motorcycle crashed near the “Big Tree” on Burr Oak Road in Boone County Monday.

Officials said no one appeared to be seriously hurt from the crash that happened about 20 minutes south of Columbia.

Firefighter and Boone County deputies were called to the scene and said one man went to the hospital after suffering road rash.

They also believed he may have lost control of his vehicle as he was going around the curve.

This is the second crash near the popular tree in less than a month.

The first crash happened just off Burr Oak Road in late August when Boone County Firefighters said that driver may have driven off the road. He suffered injuries to his head and face.
