No one hurt after shots fired in north Columbia

UPDATE: Columbia police confirmed officers investigated a shots fired incident early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the 1700 block of Providence road for a report of shots heard.

Police said officers talked to a 24-year-old man who reported seeing people in two separate vehicles firing rounds at his car near Providence and Vandiver.

The man reported the cars then followed him to the area of Country Squire Court and Creasy Springs Road where more shots were fired.

Police found shell casings at both locations.

No one was hurt.

ORIGINAL STORY: ABC 17 News is working to confirm a possible shooting in north Columbia.

A worker for Country Kitchen confirmed police were on scene around 2:00 Sunday morning near Providence and Vandiver Drive.

The worker tells ABC 17 News she heard a sound that could have possibly been gunshots. She says she saw about five police vehicles in the area after hearing the noise.

The worker tells ABC 17 News all the police vehicles had left the scene by 2:40am.

ABC 17 News heard reports that officer did find shell casings in the area. We’re working to confirm that information with police.
