Man hospitalized after crashing during police chase

A man was recovering Sunday morning after crashing during a police chase in Moniteau County.

A crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol shows it happened around 1:30am near Brush Creek Road and Redbud Road.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says officers with the California Police Department were chasing 21-year-old Kellan Flippin when he crashed.

Flippin’s vehicle apparently went off the road and flipped. Troopers report Flippin was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Flippin was taken to Capitol Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.

ABC 17 News is still working to find out why the officers were chasing him.
