Slight Risk for Severe Weather on Friday

Friday morning will bring the threat for heavy rainfall closer to I-44. Rain looks to exit through 8AM tomorrow morning leaving some dry time before the final round of storms moves through before the weekend. An approaching cold front could bring a few storms in the evening on Friday with damaging winds gusting to 60 mph and large hail 1″ in diameter. Due to an ample amount of deep layer wind shear, straight line winds looks possible. There is also a small threat for an isolated tornado due to weak low level directional shear. The timing looks to be after 6PM starting in northwest Mid-Missouri and increasing towards HWY 65 between 7PM and 8PM. Areas west if US 63 I think have the greatest potential for the stronger storms Friday night. The stronger storms look to end through 10PM before weakening and gradually work their way east of US 63 by daybreak. For additional weather updates follow @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
