Amber alert out of Independence, MO cancelled after infant found safe

UPDATE 3:22pm: The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirms the amber alert issued for a 9-month-old is now cancelled.

The patrol says the child was located safe.

The Independence Police Department posted on its Facebook page saying the infant wasfound with family members in Kansas City, MO.

It’s unclear if anyone is in custody for the incident.

ORIGINAL:The Independence Police Department has issued an amber alert for a 9-month-old allegedly abducted Tuesday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the victim is Syncere Valiant and says the suspect is31-year-old Robert Valiant.

The patrol says the suspect is in a black and red Pontiac Grand Am. Missouri license plate DL3V3F. It says authorities believe the suspect is armed.

MSHP is advising anyone who thinks they’ve seen them to call 911, the nearest law enforcement agency or the Independence police department at 816-836-3600 with any information.
