Mizzou breaks ground on indoor football practice facility
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Members of the Mizzou athletic department, donors, and curators all gathered to break ground on the construction of the new indoor football practice facility on Friday morning.

In September, the MU Board of Curators unanimously voted to name the new building the "Stephens Indoor Facility," in honor of Brad and Rachel Stephens and their contributions to the project.
"There's a lot of people who contributed to what's going to be built here," Brad Stephens said. "So just to be a part of that and have our name on it and leave a legacy for our kids, who are going to go to school here right? That's great."
Athletic Director Desiree Reed-Francois said the department is still working on the construction schedule, but hopes it will be complete in 18 months.
"It's transformational for our entire football program, but also for all of our 550 student athletes," she said. "This is a symbol of progress and it's a symbol of we didn't come to the SEC just to be a part of the SEC. We came to compete and we came to win."
