Pavement repairs along I-70 in Boone, Callaway counties delayed
UPDATE: Repairs on nearly 40 miles of Interstate 70 in Boone and Callaway counties have been delayed due to contractor scheduling.
The work was supposed to begin August 9, but has been pushed back to August 16. These improvements will happen on various stretches of the interstate from Lake of the Woods in Columbia to the Montgomery County Line.
Improvements which will close the Lake of the Woods/St. Charles Road overpass will still begin August 14.
ORIGINAL: Repairs on nearly 40 miles of Interstate 70 in Boone and Callaway counties will start on Tuesday.
The work is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. until early October. Crews will only shut down one lane in each direction during that time.
Crews will start Aug. 9 on about 5.5 miles of eastbound I-70 from the St. Charles Road/Lakes of the Woods overpass to the Boone & Callaway county line.
The project will include about a 16-mile stretch of eastbound and westbound I-70 from the St. Charles Road/Lake of the Woods interchange to the Montgomery County line.
Construction will close the St. Charles Road/Lakes of the Woods overpass and the westbound on and off-ramps for 10 days starting on Aug. 14.
The closures will happen in two phases to allow the interchange to be open on Fridays and Saturdays. The overpass and ramps will close for five days from Aug. 14 until the Aug. 19.
The second phase will begin August 21 and will last until the Aug. 26.
