CPD engages in foot pursuit before making an arrest

Columbia detectives had to chase down a man before making an arrest.

Street Crime Unit detectives responded to a call from a Ultra Mart Convenience store a little after 10:30 p.m. last night.

When detectives arrived, they noticed the subject Clezell Reynolds was in the area.

When the detectives made contact with Reynolds, Reynolds took off running from the area.

After a short pursuit, Reynolds was detained.

Detectives located a baggie of cocaine and a baggie of marijuana in the area where Reynolds was arrested.

Reynolds was arrested at 10:40 p.m. in the 1900 block of Heriford Road for Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, a bond of $4,500 dollars, Felony Resisting Arrest with a bond of $4,500 dollars.

Also a Misdemeanor Possession of a Controlled Substance with a bond of $500 dollars, and also a warrant out of Randolph County with a cash-only bond of $2,500 dollars.
