Sonic on Paris Road in Columbia robbed at gunpoint

UPDATE 8/3 9:42 a.m.-Columbia Police tell ABC17 that the man who robbed the store had a gun and demanded money from the manager.

The suspect fled on foot heading southeast.

The K9 Unit was brought out and officers were able to find some of the money along with other things involved in the robbery.

The suspect description is a white male 5′ 8″ with a slender build last seen wearing dark clothing.

ORIGINAL STORY:Police went to a possible robbery involving a man in a mask at the Sonic on Paris Road in northeast Columbia.

Officers started responding just after midnight Wednesday. They set up a perimeter covering Whitegate Drive, Sylvan Lane and Towne Drive to look for the suspect.

Police on scene confirmed the suspect got away with cash, the amount is unknown. However, police say it was a lot.
