MU also on probation for NCAA basketball violations

On top of restrictions already imposed on MU men’s basketball, now the University of Missouri will face one year’s probation, after the NCAA released its findings on Tuesday following almost two and a half years of investigation.

Mizzou already announced a one-year postseason ban back in January and gave up all wins from the the 2013-14 season, along with several other conditions, including cuts in basketball scholarships and recruiting staff activities.

MU’s Interim Chancellor Hank Foley said, ” Today ‘s release of the Summary of Findings by the NCAA is a clear indication this was a wise decision by the University and allows us to put these issues behind us as we continue to rebuild a top-notch basketball program.”

Current Head Coach, Kim Anderson, was ready to move past the Frank Haith years, saying “we are now able to draw this process to a close. It has been my desire to move our program forward since learning of what had taken place. My staff and I are fully invested in our student-athletes and helping them achieve their goals on and off the court. Our program will continue to represent the University and the state of Missouri with honor and integrity.”
