Police believe three masked men confronted and shot a man outside an east Columbia duplex Monday night.

The department responded to the shooting around 11 p.m. in the 5400 block of Volunteer Drive, near the corner of Grace Lane. A sergeant told ABC 17 News the victim suffered bullet wounds to his stomach and leg, but were non-life threatening. The victim spoke to first responders as they took him to the hospital.

The sergeant said the three suspects wore masks, and ran onto Grace Ln. after the shooting. Officers found bullet fragments in front of the garage of the duplex, and bullets within the siding of the house.
