Multiple residents displaced in fire at a six-unit condo in Jefferson City

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Jefferson City Fire Department responded to the report of a fire in a residence on Hobbs Ct. Sunday.

First arriving fire units found smoke coming from a six-unit condo. After confirming with the occupants that everyone had evacuated from the involved residence, firefighters advanced hose lines to the fire, quickly extinguishing it.  

Fire damage was contained to one residence, with 2 other residences affected by smoke from the fire.   

No one was home when the fire started with residents returning to find their home on fire.  

Fire units are conducting investigations into the cause and origin of the fire.  

Multiple residents were displaced due to the fire and smoke damage. Red Cross has been called to assist those displaced.  

One firefighter was treated at an urgent care facility for injuries sustained during the incident.
