Traffic impacts and cold weather expected for Mizzou Football game on Saturday

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Tens of thousands of people are expected to make their way to Faurot Field on Saturday morning as the Missouri Tigers are set to host the South Carolina Gamecocks for its annual military appreciation game at 4 p.m.

Governor Parson is set to make an appearance at the stadium, as he plans on visiting multiple colleges Saturday.

According to Mizzou's website, parking lots are scheduled to open at 8 a.m. on Saturday, with traffic impacts expected throughout the day.

MODOT is also warning drivers in a Tweet, about I-70 in Callaway County, which will be reduced to one lane as crews work on bridge rehabilitation.

Fans traveling on Broadway or Stadium Blvd. should also potentially expect delays and should watch out for cars parked along the side of the road.

For fans getting out early, bundling up in warm clothing will be necessary as temperatures are only expected to be in the low 30's.

Mizzou and South Carolina will face off Saturday to see who gets to take home The Mayor's Cup. The trophy has remained in Columbia for the past two years, with the tigers rattling off two straight wins against its competitors.
