Cleveland Police warn against accepting stickers from strangers after officers suffer skin irritation
Cleveland Police are warning the public against accepting stickers from strangers after officers were treated for an unknown skin irritation.
Someone apparently gave the officer the sticker while at a demonstration on a public square in downtown Cleveland.
Cleveland police tweeted about two officers getting treated for unknown skin irritation at about 4:00 p.m. Thursday.
They say two officers were taken for medical care as a result of the irritation.
One officer was a state trooper from Georgia, who was apparently treated and released. The other officer was a member of the Cleveland Police department. That officer was still getting treatment at last check.
Police banned syringes at demonstrations as a precaution following the incident, however they say they have no reports of anyone being stabbed with a needle.
Cleveland police tweeted saying they don’t know for certain if the sticker contributed to the irritation. They say they’re still investigating.
Police are advising anyone who received a sticker from someone they do not know to remove it and wash area with soap and water.
ABC 17 News is also seeing report that another protest is impacting traffic in downtown Cleveland.
