Freezing temperatures Saturday morning, warming Sunday

Another cold front will move through Friday bringing gusty northwesterly winds and cooler air to Mid-Missouri. As the winds calm down Friday night, temperatures will fall into the upper 20s to lower 30s under clear skies.

A freeze is likely late Friday night through early Saturday morning with low temperatures dropping into the upper 20s in our northeastern counties and lower 30s farther south and west. Sensitive vegetation should be covered or brought indoors Friday night.

Despite abundant sunshine, Saturday will stay cool with afternoon temperatures in the mid 50s after a chilly morning. Winds will stay under 15 mph from the east-southeast Saturday but shift to the southwest as a warm front moves through Sunday morning. This will bring a chance of a few showers early in the day Sunday and bring temperatures up into the 60s during the afternoon with gusty southwesterly winds to 25 mph.
